NYHS activities and events

National Youth Homelessness Scheme

The NYHS has sponsored a number of developmental initiatives:

An NYHS Youth Forum through which young people's experience and priorities can be explored and incorporated into the accumulated knowledge represented here.
The establishment of 10 "centres of excellence" - one in each of the nine English regions and one national RSL centre of excellence - which are expected to take a lead in building local and regional networks for sharing information and experience.
A programme of local workshops and regional conferences organised by the Centres of excellence and two national conferences during 2008. It is hoped to attract a wide cross-section of service providers, commissioners and strategists through a wide range of events.
A programme of experimental "action learning" projects in conjunction with YMCAs and local authorities throughout England, from which experience will be captured as the projects proceed.
