Located within the Ebbsfleet Valley, the disused Eastern Quarry square mile development will include 6,250 new homes in a series of five urban villages with ancillary social, community, retail and leisure facilities.
Defining and characterising the development will be a range of formal and informal open spaces including lakes, parks, woodland, sports pitches and ecological areas linked by pathways and cycle tracks.
Each area will be connected with the wider Kent Thameside area, including the town centres, Ebbsfleet International and Bluewater, by the Fastrack system.
At Eastern Quarry's south eastern edge, SecondSite are proposing to a development on the current Northfleet West Sub-Station. This would include up to 1,500 homes, shops, a school and hotel surrounding a central park linked by pathways and cycle tracks. This would similarly be linked by Fastrack.
