Case study: St Andrew's Hospital

St Andrew's Hospital site end of 2006The first step in the transformation of the Lower Lea Valley is an 800 home development on the three hectare site of the former St Andrew's Hospital next to Bromley-by-Bow station in the Lower Lea Valley. Communities and Local Government contributed £18.6m to the purchase of the site from its Thames Gateway Programme Fund.

 

This mixed use development will include:

  • A high density, 800 house residential scheme with an affordable housing element
  • A new health centre
  • Local shops
  • Employment
  • Leisure uses

This development will showcase sustainable low carbon urban design and high quality architecture.
