Case study: Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME)

The rationalisation of Ford's operations led to 55 hectares of land being declared surplus to requirements, this was acquired by the London Development Agency (LDA).

Taking advantage of the area's strategic road transport connections, about 15 hectares of land was earmarked for the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) and the development of Beam Reach Business Park in Havering.

CEME and it's green environsCEME Campus is a facility that supports a self-sustaining community of 'best-in-class' organisations, all of whom have an interest in education and training or promoting organisational competence and standards of excellence, particularly in the manufacturing, engineering and technology sectors.

CEME offers unique conference facilities, event venue and meeting room hire. It is ideally located close to the M25 perfect for Essex and London.

Staff at CEME are passionate about providing solutions for the needs of the local community, industry and business.

CEME will become the focal point of regeneration in Thames Gateway through the provision of a range of commercial services and regeneration activities within the manufacturing, engineering and technology sectors - the 'core sectors' in a first class environment.
