Case study: Tavy Bridge

Tavy BridgeThe £180 million regeneration of Tavy Bridge by Gallions Housing Association is breathing new life into an area full of potential. Work started in February 2005 and by 2014, there will be:

  • 827 new homes for sale and rent, plus
  • new community facilities including:
    • shops
    • a library
    • a health centre and
    • a community hall.

There will also be:

  • children's play areas
  • a multi-use sports pitch
  • a boat club and
  • enhancements to open parks and lakes.

It will help to build a strong and sustainable community, in a safe and welcoming environment.

Phase one has been completed with £10m from the Communities and Local Government Thames Gateway Programme Fund. Bellway Homes and The Anderson Group have taken site occupation of phase two.
