Details

From 2016, developers will be required to deal with all emissions from-new build homes that fall under the scope of building regulations.

A specified portion of this will have to be dealt with on-site through energy efficiency measures such as insulation and on-site renewables such as solar panels. The remaining emissions can be dealt with through off-site measures, the mechanism for which has yet to be decided.
