Summary

The Department has commissioned this reportĀ on the impacts of mandatory CE marking in the UK, to support the impact assessment paper: The European Commission's proposed Construction Products Regulation Impact Assessment (see link on right), and the consultation paper:The European Commission's proposed Construction Products Regulation, Consultation on the proposals and development of a UK negotiating line (see link on right).

The overall aim of this project were:

  • to obtain feedback on the benefits and impacts of implementing the Construction Products Directive (CPD) in the UK
  • establish the benefits or otherwise of non-obligatory CE marking
  • and to provide evidence to underpin future policy development.

The findings and recommendations in this report are those of the consultant authors and do not necessarily represent the views or proposed policies of Communities and Local Government.
