Summary

This consultation paper sets out and seeks views on  changes to the requirements of  Part G (Hygiene) of schedule 1 of the Building Regulations in England and Wales and Approved Document G publication. The consultation closes on the 5 August 2008.

The changes proposed in this document are designed to address issues identified by users and the building control industry itself.  The changes are intended to update and improve compliance with the Building Regulations and legislation.

Alongside the consultation paper the department published Impact Assessments of amending Part G (Hygiene) of the Building Regulations and the revision to Approved Document G (see link on the right) covering the key proposals. We would also welcome any views you may have on these impact assessments by 5 August 2008.
