The Building (Amendment) Regulations 2003 (New Part M in Schedule 1 to the Building Regulations 2000 and other amendments to the Building Regulations 2000). It includes correction from 10 March 2004.
The purpose of this Circular is to draw attention to these amendment regulations and explain the changes they make to the Building Regulations 2000 (the Building Regulations), explain the coming into force and transitional provisions, and announce the approval and publication of a new Approved Document Part M.
The main provisions as mentioned in the Statutory Instrument (S.I. 2003/2692) will come into force on 1 May 2004, subject to the transitional provisions. Other provisions will come into force on 1 December 2003.
