The objective of the scoping study is to raise awareness of the Water Framework Directive amongst planning authorities and planning professionals, to facilitate a better understanding of the implications of implementing the Directive for plans, plan making and development control, to involve planning professionals in the process of identifying both opportunities, issues and possible solutions relating to the implementation of the Directive, and, through the above, collect relevant information to inform future decisions and actions.
