Summary

This publication presents new experimental statistics for land type. They are provided for all of England as at January 2005 and are based on an enhanced base map. The statistics have been calculated for each Census ward (as defined for 2003), and are presented here along with an updated explanatory paper. They have been produced by Communities and Local Government on behalf of the Office for National Statistics' Neighbourhood Statistics service. Generalised Land Use Database 2005 (Enhanced Basemap) statistics are available for a number of other administrative areas such as output areas and local authorities from the Neighbourhood Statistics website.
