Summary

These impact assessments support The Future of Building Control - Consultation paper. The five individual impact assessment reports have been assembled into one report and cover the following areas:

• Periodic system of review options (IA1)
• Measures to raise compliance (Building Notices and Project Guides) (IA2)
• Measures to modernise inspection (IA3)
• Measures to improve formal enforcement (IA4)
• Alternative routes to compliance extending the 'pattern book' approach (IA5)

Alongside the consultation paper, we would welcome any views you may have on these impact assessments by 10 June 2008.
