Summary

The Department is setting up accreditation schemes for energy assessors in accordance with the European Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). It is inviting applications for interested bodies to apply to be accreditation schemes for the remaining categories of energy assessor in accordance with the EPBD programme. The following documents provide details of the process, standards and minimum requirements for accreditation schemes.

Air Conditioning

  • Approval of Energy Assessors Accreditation Schemes for Inspection of Air Conditioning Systems (Product code: 07 BD 04811/1)
    This document sets out the Accreditation Standards for Energy Assessors (Air Conditioning Systems). Amended April 2008.
  • Minimum Requirements for Energy Assessors for Inspection of Air Conditioning Systems (Product code: 07 BD 04811/4)
    This document sets out the minimum requirements for Energy Assessors in respect of inspection of air conditioning systems.

Newly Constructed Dwellings 

  • Approval of Energy Assessors Accreditation Schemes for Newly Constructed Dwellings (Product code: 07 BD 04811/8)
    This document sets out the Accreditation Standards for energy assessments of newly constructed dwellings.

Public Buildings

    This document sets out the Accreditation Standards for the production of Display Energy Certificates (DECs).

Non-Dwellings
