Summary

This Code of Best Practice, produced jointly by representatives of central and local government and the mobile phone industry, builds on Government guidance and operators' commitments. It provides clear and practical advice to ensure the delivery of significantly better and more effective communication and consultation between operators, local authorities and local people. The Code, published in November 2002, replaces the version first produced in 1996.

Note: The above publication was issued by our former department, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). ODPM became Communities and Local Government (DCLG) on 5 May 2006 - all references in the text to ODPM now refer to Communities and Local Government.
