Summary

The purpose of this document is to record the changes between the October 2007 version of the Code for Sustainable Homes Technical Guidance and the April 2008 version.

The changes, which have been kept to a minimum, have been made in response to feedback from Code for Sustainable Homes assessors, developers and wider industry stakeholders. It also clarifies ambiguities and brings the Technical Guidance into line with new legislation.

The April 2008 version of the Code for Sustainable Homes Technical Guidance underpins the publication The Code for Sustainable Homes: Setting the standard in sustainability for new homes that was published on 27 February 2008.

The technical guidance sets out the requirements for the Code, and the process by which a Code assessment is reached. It aims to make gaining a Code assessment as simple, transparent and rigorous as possible.

Previous versions of the technical guidance are now out of date and therefore should no longer be referred to.
