Summary

This report, published in October 2004, outlines the monitoring and review of these guidelines by examining recent trends with regards to the demand for aggregates including recent trends on construction activity and consumption of aggregates. Data has indicated that there is no requirement at present to revise the aggregates guidelines that were published in 2003.

Note: The above publication was issued by our former department, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). ODPM became Communities and Local Government on 5 May 2006 - all references in the text to ODPM now refer to Communities and Local Government.
