Summary

The publication below gives final detailed definitions for 138 of the national indicators out of the total of 198 that were announced in October 2007 together with a short update on arrangements for publication of the final Handbook.

Definitions for the remaining 60 indicators are still being finalised. These include the indicators which will be based on data provided by the new Place Survey and those which are proposed as part of the Assessments of Police and Community Safety, both of which were subject to separate consultations working to a later timetable.

We are aiming to publish the final Handbook by the end of March, which will include the definitions for all the indicators that will be introduced from April 2008.

Guidance on the methodology for the Place Survey will be issued in April.
