Summary

This consultation document sets out the Government's proposals for a new method of calculating Performance Reward Grant entitlement.

The Government has set aside £340 million (and an additional £50 million for areas eligible for the Working Neighbourhoods Fund) to provide a financial incentive to local authorities and their partners, but wishes to develop an improved scheme which is simpler to operate, integral to the negotiation of LAAs and capable of incentivising performance across the LAA. 

Several broad principles of the new reward model have already been announced and this document makes proposals and seeks views on the detailed design.
