Summary

This paper draws together evidence about the relationship between community strategies and Local Development Frameworks (LDFs).

The paper draws upon a range of evidence from the evaluation of community strategies including light touch and main case studies with a range of local authorities, surveys of local authorities, reviews of community strategies as well as other elements of the Local Government Modernisation Agenda (LGMA) meta evaluation. The initial findings from the evidence were presented to a workshop hosted by Communities and Local Government and the Policy Research Institute held in London in March 2007.
