Summary

The data from the Land Registry shows that the mix of properties sold has changed over time and in the past few years this is largely due to a change in the mix of new properties coming onto the market with far more flats and far fewer detached properties. This holds across all regions, although in London, with a low percentage of detached houses, there are fewer new terraced houses.
