Summary
The statutory guidance on the assessment of hazards (Operating Guidance) is based on the Housing Health and Safety Rating System Guidance (Version 2), published in November 2004. The final guidance contains minor changes to the draft version. These changes will have no impact on local authorities preparation for implementation.
A electronic 'hazard survey' programme for use with hand-held computers is associated with the Operating Guidance. It is a slightly amended programme to the one associated with draft version 2 and will be issued on CD ROM. Although this isn't yet available, back-orders will be honoured and sent out separately later.
In the meantime the HHSRS version 2 programme can be used in association with the guidance.
