Summary

In December 2006, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (CLG) commissioned Martin Cave to conduct a review of the regulation of social housing - in particular to establish objectives for social housing regulation and propose a system of regulation, and an institutional framework, capable of achieving those objectives. The review received over one hundred submissions of evidence and met all relevant stake holders. Particular attention was paid to the views of tenants. The review's conclusions and recommendations are summarised here.
