Summary

This is the Government's plan about making sure older people have a good and safe place to live.

This plan is by a part of the Government called Communities and Local Government.

The plan is about making sure we are ready for the future.

In the future there will be lots more older people. This is because people are living to an older age.

There will be more older people who are disabled and older people from lots of different backgrounds and cultures.

At the moment we do not have enough good homes for older people to live in.

The Government wants to make sure that:

• we are ready for the changes in the future
• older people in the future can have a good place to live that is right for them
• the areas people live in are safe and easy for them to use and get around in

This is why the Government has made this plan.
