The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) has been working with partners from the public and private sector to increase the supply of homes where there is high housing demand and where many people find that home ownership is unaffordable.
ODPM commissioned several Case Studies in London and the wider South East to inform its Joint Action Programme with the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit.
The Case Studies, completed in 2004, examined sites that had already delivered significant levels of housing completions and sites that had housing potential but were failing to deliver. The aim of the Case Studies was to identify the "lessons learnt".
This publication draws on the lessons from three successful development sites accompanied by sources of help and information to assist anyone involved in taking forward large sites.
