Summary

The House of Commons ODPM Select Committee published its report on the role and effectiveness of the Housing Corporation on 29 June.

We are grateful to the Committee for this contribution to the work already underway to improve the delivery of affordable housing.

The Select Committee report was published in the same week as the Government's report of the end to end review of the Housing Corporation. The report of the end to end review incorporated an action plan that aims to ensure the Government moves forward to get the best returns on housing investment, providing the right affordable homes in the right place to the people who most need them. Many of the Committee's recommendations overlap with, and endorse the findings of the review and are therefore already being taken forward as part of this action plan.
