Summary

A public consultation exercise was carried out by Communities and Local Government (published as Tenant Empowerment - A consultation paper) on 19 June 2007. The closing date for receipt of responses was 11 September 2007.

Included within the consultation were proposals for a National Tenant Voice, proposals for options for tenant led stock options moving ahead, and proposals for giving tenants greater opportunities to undertake stock transfer. We also invited views on options for the development of tenant-led ALMOs.

The responses received to the consultation exercise were then analysed. A total of 76 responses from a variety of organisations and tenants were received and the analysis of these is contained in this report. There were 11 responses received after the closing date. These are not included in the main analysis but were considered in developing a final position.
