Summary

The consultation on proposals for new financial arrangements for firefighter pensions ran for twelve weeks from 8 February to 3 May 2005. Thirty-eight Fire and Rescue Authorities and three representative bodies responded.

This document summarises the responses to the proposals outlined in the consultation document and sets out conclusions for each policy issue on which we asked for views. It also addresses other issues which were raised during the consultation.
