Summary
With the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 ("the Order") in October 2006, Fire and Rescue Authorities and other bodies ("enforcing authorities") now haveĀ a duty to enforce fire safety in non-domestic premises. This guidance note sets out the procedures for the enforcing authority and the responsible person under the legislation to ask the Secretary of State to determine disputes. This is the second guidance note in a series intended to assist enforcing authorities in better understanding their duties under the Order and for the public to better understand the intent of specific aspects of the Order.
