Summary

In April 2000 Mott MacDonald published a report on the Future of Fire Service Control Rooms and Communications. The report concluded that maximum efficiency could be achieved from a reduction in the number of control rooms from the then current 49 to 9 (including London) regional controls.

Since the publication of the original report there have been significant changes in the environment in which the fire and rescue service operates. This report reviews and updates the recommendations in light of these changes.

An executive summary of this report is available via the link on the right.
