Summary

The Flood Recovery Grant is a scheme established by Communities and Local Government under section 31 of the Local Government Act 2003 to support the work of local authorities in helping community recovery, and particularly to provide support for those in greatest and most immediate need.

This document has been prepared to enable local authorities and other interested parties to understand the approach taken to calculating the grant allocations under the original and the extended schemes.

An addendum to this document was published in May 2008 to cover the January 2008 scheme.
