This assessment has been commissioned by the Equalities and Diversity Unit, as part of a programme of race equality impact assessments (REIAs) designed to help the department to meet its duties under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000. It provides an analysis of the 'race equality' impact of the Department's Procurement policy and practice and sets out the recommendations for future action that flow from this analysis.
