Summary

The Benefits of Community Engagement report was written by IPPR Trading Ltd for the Civil Renewal Unit. The report reviews the evidence for the positive results of community engagement and identifies further work needed to increase and promote understanding of what works.

Since this publication the Civil Renewal Unit has run a research programme looking at specific areas of community engagement. The first of the reports from this programme to be published is Improving Community Involvement in Community Safety which is available on this website. For more information on the research programme please visit www.togetherwecan.direct.gov.uk (External link).
