Summary

Section 69 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction (LDEDC) Act places a new duty on county concils and unitary district councils to prepare an assessment of local economic conditions. The duty is due to come into force on 1st April 2010.

The draft guidance explains what the new duty is intended to achieve and how assessments should be taken forward.
