Summary

At the UK Presidency's meeting of Urban Policy Ministers in December 2005, it was agreed that a group of EU Member States would investigate the current and potential role of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in delivering lending and investment for sustainable cities and communities across Europe. This expert working group would report back to Ministers at the Leipzig Informal Ministerial meeting in May 2007. This research report sets out the key findings of the investigation.

Note: The report was updated in August 2007 to include Ministerial conclusions and recommendations.
