Improving the energy efficiency of your building can mean either making changes to the building, or simply changing your behaviour to save energy. The Energy Performance Certificates will give you advice on both of these areas. The recommendations are guidance only, but it is made clear that acting on them would help people to cut their energy consumption, save money on bills and help safeguard the environment.
If your property has a low rating this simply indicates your property could be more energy efficient. During the inspection a number of recommendations to improve the energy efficiency will be identified.
The Carbon Trust works with organisations to reduce carbon emissions, energy and costs. To find out how to turn your EPC recommendations into carbon, energy and cost savings contact the Carbon Trust Advice Line on 0800 085 2005 or visit the saving energy section of their website.
