Advisory Panel on Standards for the Planning Inspectorate (APOS)

The Advisory Panel on Standards for the Planning Inspectorate was set up in January 1993. It is an independent body whose purpose is to advise the Minister for Planning in England and the Minister for the Environment, Planning and Countryside in Wales on the maintenance and enhancement of professional standards in the Planning Inspectorate.

The reports below provide reviews of the quality standards of the Planning Inspectorate. The Panel reports on the Planning Inspectorate's compliance with the quality target, their working methods, stakeholder perceptions, the quality of their work as an organisation and on the work of the Inspectors. From 2007 onwards these reports will be published at Advisory Panel on Standards for the Planning Inspectorate (APOS) (external link).

The findings and recommendations in these reports are those of the consultant authors and do not necessarily represent the views or proposed policies of Communities and Local Government.
