Existing Competent Person Schemes
The Building (Amendment) Regulations 2009 come into effect on 1 April 2009, and amend Schedule 2A to the Building Regulations 2000 by adding a new competent person scheme operator, Capita Gas Registration and Ancillary Services Limited. The Amendment Regulations also amend Schedule 2A in a number of places to reflect changes made by the Electrical Contractors Association which mean that all its schemes are now operated by its wholly owned subsidiary EC Certification Limited.
The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) (Amendment No.2) Regulations 2008, which came into effect on 1 October 2008, have removed the need to have separate competent person schemes to carry out CO2 emission rate calculations. Instead, these calculations can now be carried out by members of approved energy performance accreditation schemes which are listed on the Accreditation web page.

Installation of replacement windows, rooflights, roof windows or doors in an existing dwelling.

Heat producing gas appliances
Installation of a heat producing gas appliance which has a rated heat output of 100 kilowatts or less and is installed in a building with no more than three storeys (excluding any basement) or in a dwelling.
