Today the Department for Communities and Local Government has appointed a new Non-Executive Director to the Department’s Board.
Diana Brightmore-Armour, CEO of Corporate Banking at Lloyds Banking Group, joins the Board as a third Non-Executive Director for the Department in addition to Sara Weller and Stephen Hay whose appointments were confirmed in December 2010.
Since joining Lloyds Banking Group in 2004, Diana has focused on building its reputation as a relationship bank that can serve as a trusted adviser to its clients.
Previously, Diana worked for the Coca-Cola Company and has a wealth of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, financial management, treasury and audit.
On her appointment to the role, Diana says:
I am delighted to be taking up this role with DCLG. It’s a critical time for Government departments and a privilege for me to be joining the board of non executive directors and to bring my experience to the table.

- Non-Executive Board Members are appointed by the Secretary of State and are experts from outside Government. Their role is to advise on the Department on performance (including agreeing key performance indicators), operational issues (including the operational/delivery implications of policy proposals), and on the effective management of the Department. They will also provide support, guidance and challenge on the progress and implementation of the business plan, and be involved in recruiting, appraising and planning succession of senior executives.
- Diana Brightmore-Armour has 30 years of international experience in banking, corporate finance, financial management, treasury and audit. She is currently CEO of Corporate Banking at Lloyds Banking Group and previously held roles at the Coca Cola Company, the Itochu Group and in Oneswoop.com. Diana is a Fellow member of both the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
