Improvement Notices

Improvement notices were introduced from May 2008 to address significant or enduring under-performance by a local council or partner. They are issued by the appropriate Secretary of State and set out the issues to be tackled, timescales and additional steps that will be taken if the necessary improvement is not achieved.
