The e-Innovations Programme

Programme summary

The e-Innovations programme was about encouraging innovation in local government, and exploring innovative approaches to:

  • Improving the quality of services
  • Delivering efficiency
  • Joined up working
  • Community engagement

44 projects have now completed and many are now in dissemination and/or marketing phase.

The programme commissioned research into the experiences of the project's involved in Innovation. The Innovations Evaluation Report (see external links on right hand side of page) captures the lessons learned by all involved and to make recommendations for future Programmes.

These findings, along with collaboration with leading thinkers and practitioners from Public, Private, Voluntary and Academia has led to the development of a Framework for innovation (see external links on right hand side of page) which is intended to highlight the main issues to address in embedding innovation in local government. This was launched for consultation at the local e-gov EXPO on 5/6 April 2006.

The Product Share Catalogue (see external links on right hand side of page) is used to share outputs with interested parties - these project factsheets also contain contact details for the projects.
