Local government
Electoral arrangements
Communities and Local Government is responsible for setting the cycle of local elections in for local authorities in England.
We are also responsible for the legislation that governs the review and updating of electoral arrangements within local authorities. The Electoral Commission is responsible for carrying this out.
All other aspects of local government elections are the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice.
