Selective Licensing
The Housing Act 2004 provides powers for local authorities to selectively licence privately rented properties in designated areas suffering from low housing demand and/or significant and persistent anti-social behaviour.
Regulations relating to the implementation of Selective Licensing were laid before parliament and published on 22 February 2006. The regulations were published in draft for consultation in November 2005 and the comments received were taken into consideration in revising the regulations.
The Statutory Instruments are now available on the Office of Public Sector Information website.
