Background information about the Board and its work.
The principal purpose of the Inter-Regional Board is to secure the timely delivery of infrastructure and services necessary for sustainable growth in the Milton Keynes and South Midlands (MKSM) Growth Area. This will be achieved by influencing the priorities of department and agency investment programmes and by encouraging their integration with the Growth Area agenda. The work of the Board will focus on the investment that cannot be secured by Local Delivery Vehicles (LDVs).
The Board will establish the infrastructure priorities and core needs required to deliver the Sustainable Communities growth area proposals and monitor their implementation. This will embrace all hard infrastructure and services, such as highways, education, health provision, utilities and community facilities, and other infrastructure such as public transport, environmental infrastructure, emergency services, community support and social services, in so far as they are beyond the capability of LDVs to secure.
A copy of the Board's Terms of Reference can be found below.
The Inter-Regional Board is chaired by a Communities and Local Government Minister and includes members representing the local authorities, CBI, Regional Development Agencies, English Partnerships, Environment Agency, Highways Agency, the Government Offices and Local Delivery Vehicles.
The Board normally will meet two or three times a year. Additional meetings may be called in response to specific circumstances. Copies of the minutes and papers from the previous meetings are available below.
Supporting papers for meetings 1 - 5 are available from urselle.mumford@gose.gsi.gov.uk.
