Housing market and house prices
This section brings together information and data relating to the housing market, house prices, mortgages, property transactions and land prices. The main data covers average house prices, house price indices and house price inflation figures across the UK. Other data include average mortgage values, property transactions, repossessions, land prices, and trends in interest rates.
The data for many of these series are collected through the Regulated Mortgage Survey (which is sponsored by Communities and Local Government and the Council of Mortgage Lenders).
The publication section includes the monthly Communities and Local Government house price index, and an archive of the monthly housing market reports and the quarterly house price focus articles, both of which are no longer published.
The live tables section provides all the latest available house prices and housing market data including tables of house prices for England and Wales, based on Land Registry data, which are disaggregated to the local authority level.
