Housing finance and household expenditure
A complete picture on housing finance is far beyond our scope and this section, rather than attempting to be comprehensive, covers two specific areas: housing capital expenditure and funding data that are specifically related to social housing; and household expenditure on housing data.
We are currently reviewing the range of housing capital expenditure and funding data. Until this is completed, the data for this area may be limited and some figures may be out of date.
For expenditure by households, some data is available on housing spend e.g. the proportion of income spend on items that are generally associated with the house, such as maintenance and energy.
Other housing finance and related data including Housing Capital Investment Allocations (previously known as the Housing Investment Programme or HIP) and Council Tax data can be found on the Housing and Local Government Finance Sections of Communities and Local Government website (respectively). Links have been provided where appropriate.
