Household estimates and projections

Household projections are produced by Communities and Local Government and are linked to the latest Office for National Statistics Sub National Population Projections. The projections are trend-based and indicate the number of additional households that would form if recent demographic trends continue.

A description of the Household Projections model and the method used to update the projections to a 2006-base can be found in Updating the household projections to a 2006-base: Methodology (published 11 March 2009).

Archive

The 2004-based projections have been replaced by the 2006-based projections but information about these can be found in Statistical Release: Revised projections of households for the English regions to 2026
