Housing mobility
The Government is committed to increasing opportunities for mobility for social housing tenants.
It supports the introduction of more Choice-Based Lettings (CBL) schemes across the country, particularly those which operate on a sub-regional basis and provide a key vehicle for social housing mobility. Further information is available from the Choice-Based Lettings section of this website.
Communities and Local Government is working in partnership with London Councils to deliver mobility services for social tenants who want to move out of London. Social housing landlords and tenants can find details of which schemes are available on the housingmoves website (external link).
Information about other options for tenants across England is available on the DirectGov website (external link). Communities and Local Government is also considering how best to support and facilitate other wider national mobility options.
