The Allocation of Housing and Homelessness (Eligibility) (England) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No. 1294) came into force on 1 June 2006. The regulations govern eligibility for an allocation of housing under Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 and eligibility for homelessness assistance under Part 7 of the 1996 Act. They apply to England only and have been amended by the following regulations:

SI 2006 No. 3340 makes provision for those limited numbers of nationals of Bulgaria and Romania who will be treated as EU workers.
