The proposed staffing structure of the new organisation was created in discussion with Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) managers and control room staff and managers. It contains a range of roles to cover every aspect of work from critical emergency call handling activities through to the organisation and governance activities at director level.
The aim is for new posts to be filled by existing skilled and experienced staff, transferring to the new organisation under the terms of Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) legislation. Any remaining vacancies will be filled by an open and competitive recruitment and selection process.
All staff will receive comprehensive training and learning and development activities to support them to be effective and confident in their role.
The terms and conditions for staff working at a Regional Control Centre (RCC) will be decided by the RCC Board, although the contractual terms and conditions of transferring staff are significantly protected under TUPE.
