Fire and resilience research
Communities and Local Government carries out research relating to the operations and practices of the Fire and Rescue Service. This work is led by the Reseach and Statistics Division, a part of the Fire and Rescue Service Directorate.
Other parts of Communities and Local Government are involved in fire research. The Thames Gateway Directorate (Sustainable Communities Group, Communities and Local Government) runs a research programme dedicated to Building Regulations and research on fire safety in non-domestic buildings.
